NOAH

Rahel

There (A)was an old man named Noah,
And he was a man who loved (A7)God.
He (D)worked all day and he prayed always,
And he (Dm)listened for the voice of the (A)Lord.
He was just a (E7)man, but he loved the (A)Lord.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

(A)One day while Noah was working,
He heard that still small voice in his (A7)heart.
It said (D)"Noah, drop what you're doing,
And com(Dm)mence to build me an (A)ark.
Don't ask any (E7)questions,
Just follow my di(A)rections.
(A)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

Now an (A)ark is a king-size houseboat,
Such as the world never had (A7)seen.
The (D)people said, "Noah, you're crazy"
But Noah (Dm)kept on building that (A)ark.
He and his three (E7)sons,
They worked 120 (A)years.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

And (A)all the time they were building,
The sun continued to (A7)shine.
The (D)people they all went their own ways,
And did what(Dm)ever came into their (A)minds.
They didn't be(E7)lieve,
That the rains would ever (A)come.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

But as (A)soon as that ark was ready,
The rain began to pour (A7)down.
The (D)people all ran to their towers,
But no (Dm)safety could be (A)found.
The whole world was (E7)flooded,
They who laughed are now (A)drowned.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

But (A)what about Noah and his children,
And the animals God wanted to (A7)save?
They're (D)high and dry and riding the waves
In the (Dm)ark God had told them to (A)make.
So you see it wasn't (E7)Noah,
Who was really the (A)fool.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

And (A)when the waters receded,
They landed on a mountain (A7)top.
Just (D)eight people walked out of that big boat,
They had the (Dm)whole world
Fresh to them(A)selves.
So I think it was (E7)worth it,
To obey the (A)Lord.
(A7)-(D)-(Dm)-(E7)

Now, (A)these things really did happen,
So, brother you'd better take (A7)heed.
For (D)God has spoken to His Children again,
They're getting (Dm)ready for the fire next (A)time.
You'd better take (E7)Jesus,
He's the asbestos (A)ark.
(A7)-(A6)-(A)
